Laundry and utility room renovations are not nearly as costly or involved as other types of kitchen renovations, but it can still be an expensive job depending on the scope. “You have lots of areas where you can include additional functionalities without making it look cluttered or even make the room look bigger with clever use of wall space,” says interior designer Sally Wilson.

Before you do any work, draw up a plan of what you want to achieve. It is important to be realistic, otherwise you are likely to get carried away and end up with an expensive white elephant.
